Behind the Brand

OHMINME is based on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia. Run by Linnea, mother Helene, and of course - the two quality supervisors and nap experts, Leo and Chibo. Yep, some of us nap at work.

Linnea is the designer and creator of most of our products. She has a background in web design, photography, and has loved making things for as long she can remember. With an obsession with dogs and sustainability - OHMINME is a dream come true which allows her to share the love for these things.

Helene is the person behind our beautiful knitted creations, all lovingly handmade in Sweden. With her incredible craft skills and years of experience (she's been knitting for nearly 50 years!), we have created something unique yet minimalistic to be in tune with the earth conscious way of living.

WHAT WE DO

We keep fabric scraps from going to landfill and re-purpose them to make beautiful, soft, durable and stylish dog accessories. We carefully choose suppliers and support local and small businesses so we can feel confident about labour and production standards.

Did you know plastic items and synthetic fibres (such as nylon, polyester and other petroleum-based materials) can take up to 1000 years to decompose? Our mission is to make it a little easier for dog parents to go plastic and toxin-free, while still being able to find unique and durable things for their furry friends.

All our products are lovingly handmade and each item can take between 1.5-4 hours to make. That's because good things take time, and we hope you and your dog will enjoy it for many years to come.

PLANT A TREE

In many parts of Australia, koalas and other native animals are losing their homes and their lives due to excessive tree-clearing. In some areas, they are now locally extinct.

We proudly support the Plant-A-Tree Program by Carbon Neutral, by planting one tree for every order received. Planting trees will assist in removing toxins such as carbon dioxide from our atmosphere, supporting local businesses by employing local people, and most importantly - creating habitat and food for our Australian native wildlife.

RECYCLED COTTON

Certified organic cotton is grown without harmful fertilisers and pesticides, with practices that promote biodiversity and soil health. However, cotton as a whole is considered to be one of the dirtiest crops in the world, covering 2.5% of the world’s cultivated land and accounting for 24% of the world’s insectiside market. While organic cotton makes cotton cultivation “cleaner”, both organic and conventional cotton go through the same manufacturing process, which is very water and energy intensive.

Recycled cotton is better for the planet because it saves a massive amount of resources and avoids excessive and unnecessary pollution. It also saves perfectly good textiles from being wasted.

Our cotton rope is re-purposed, post-industrial or post-consumer cotton that would otherwise be thrown away to end up in landfill and oceans. For added peace of mind, the cotton has passed the 'Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®', which certifies that it has been tested for and is free from any harmful chemicals.
